Dr. Drakatos has over fifteen years of experience (including Big Five) in the field of telecommunications and information technology. His experience includes being a consultant to both government agencies as well as to the private sector in several Latin American and European countries. He was project director for the planning of a worldwide database in Saudi Arabia. With Bell South, he participated in the design and implementation of a number of technology integration projects, as a member of the planning and re-engineering team. He also has worked with several other companies such as Price Waterhouse in New York City as principal consultant and Florida Power & Light in Miami, Florida. He has lectured at the European Telecommunications Organization on IT technologies and infrastructure and IT design and planning methodology and reengineering. He also supported the Key Accounts Management department with the design and implementation of large telecommunications and IT infrastructure projects in several countries such as Greece, Armenia and Romania. He is a visiting professor at FIU and teaches courses in database design and management, data communications, and business applications. Dr. Drakatos has published articles in the European Journal of Systems and Software as well as with the Wireless and Mobile Computing Journal. Dr. Drakatos has several publications in various IEEE and ACM Conference proceedings.
