PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Ron Gilbert has served as the primary consultant to several organizations that have received national awards and other recognitions for their unique efforts that have led to measurable improvement in quality, customer care and other bottom line performance measures. He has provided consultation and training for over 1,000 organizations. His assessment tools have been used with over 30,000 employees and customers in the U.S. and abroad. He was the primary consultant for McClellan Air Force Base’s Project Pacer Share and the U.S. Navy’s SUPSHIP, Jacksonville--both recipients of the Presidents Quality Prototype Award (1992 and 1996 respectively). He also facilitated the development of the National Thoroughbred Racing Association (NTRA).

Dr. Gilbert has designed and installed organizational-wide training programs in hospitals, financial institutions, assembly, manufacturing and distribution organizations; transportation and logistics organizations; newspaper and television companies; military commands; and professional associations. He has been a management consultant and trainer for some of the most prestigious executive and management development centers in the U.S., including the U.S. Executive Office of the President. His major areas of focus include performance improvement in quality management, customer service, supervision, work teams, and management skills.

Working through university research centers and his company, GEMS of Florida, Dr. Gilbert has been the principal investigator in over 50 technical assistance efforts for Federal, State and Local government agencies, community organizations, and businesses. He has written and published over 100 empirically based technical papers and reports for such organizations. He has over 35 academic publications in scholarly journals. He has authored several texts related to organizational improvement, public policy, and personal performance.
