PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES
Dr. Cousins research interests include the development of theoretical explanations for the consequences of the interaction of the social and the technical, as a result of the implementation of information systems in organizations. This involves the examination of the effects of virtual teams and ubiquitous computing environments on organizational structure and the pattern of work. Her work has been published in the Journal of the AIS, and the Communications of the AIS. Her work has also appeared in the proceedings of the ACMs International Conference on Mobile Computing and Networking, INFORMS, and the European Conference on Information Systems. Additionally, she is a member of AIS and INFORMS. She is past managing editor of Information and Organization. Dr. Cousins has served in several professional capacities including manager in the Jamaican aviation industry and management consultant in one of the ‘Top 5’ consulting firms.
