PROFESSIONAL ACTIVITIES

Dr. Aguirre Rodriguez is an active member of several professional and scholarly organizations including the American Marketing Association, Ph.D. Project, and the Association for Consumer Research.

Dr. Alexandra Aguirre Rodriguezs research concentration is in the area of consumer behavior, more particularly consumer motivation. Under the umbrella topic of consumer motivation Alexandra has written papers on consumer desire, cravings, and self-image congruence with leading authors in the consumer behavior field, including Richard Bagozzi, Brian Wansink, and M. Joseph Sirgy directed toward publication in the fields top journals, such as the Journal of Consumer Research, the Journal of Consumer Psychology and the Journal of the Academy of Marketing Science. Her currently burgeoning stream of research examines consumer motivation in the context of acculturation and consumption processes of United States immigrants from Hispanic cultures.
