 Dear PhD Students,
The College of Business Administration at Florida International University has as part of its mission a commitment to the development of new knowledge by creating an environment that nurtures high-quality research and the development of future scholars. A strong doctoral program is an important part of fulfilling our mission. We offer a PhD in Business Administration with concentrations in Accounting, Finance, Management Information Systems, and Management & International Business.
Having experienced and qualified faculty as professors and mentors is critical to the success of any doctoral program. Our professors are ranked among the research leaders in their fields and regularly publish in the leading journals. Many serve as on the editorial boards of these journals. Our professors have significant years of experience in working with doctoral students and have served as dissertation advisors for many.
Our PhD program is very selective and only admits a small number of highly-qualified students to a concentration every other year. As a result, our doctoral students receive a high-degree of personal attention from their professors. The College is committed to the success of all of our doctoral students and provides a high level of support to ensure this success. Most of our doctoral students have at least one publication before they graduate.
Graduates from our doctoral program have gone on to very successful careers in academia. Some of the placements have included business schools in such universities as the University of Illinois at Chicago, the University of West Virginia, the University of Maryland, the University of Alaska, the University of Massachusetts, University of Puerto Rico and Wayne State.
