A Certification designed for the Senior Level AML/BSA Compliance Managers
Overview
The FIBA-FIU Certified Professional in AML (CP/AML) is the highest level certification offered through The FIBA AML Institute in partnership with FIU. The course reflects the daily challenges faced by the AML Manager. Through a series of case studies, this course addresses the challenges of managing an AML compliance department. This includes: risk assessment, AML management, transaction monitoring, SAR investigations, responding to subpoenas, customer data reviews, and consequences of an enforcement action.

The FIBA-FIU Certified Professional in AML (CP/AML) is specifically designed for supervisors and managers of AML compliance departments, who have full responsibility for implementing a risk based AML program at their financial institution. Upon completion of the program, participants will have an understanding of essential topics such as:
- Conducting internal investigations
- SARs preparation
- Conducting look-back projects
- Preparing risk assessments
- Transaction monitoring
- Department management (daily, weekly, monthly)
- Conducting KYC/CIF update projects
- Internal controls
Pre Course Preparation
Registered participants must complete a comprehensive pre-course work book prior to attending the class.
Estimated preparation time: 15 hours minimum.
On Line Certification Exam
The online examination is in essay format, based on case studies, and participants will have a 90 day testing window following the course. The candidate must demonstrate an understanding of the application of AML laws and regulations in a variety of "real life" examples. Participants passing the exam will receive the prestigious The FIBA-FIU Certified Professional in AML (CP/AML).
Participant Eligibility
Participants should be in the banking industry or other closely related professions. All participants are expected to complete a comprehensive pre-course workbook that will supplement the successful passing of the exam leading to the CP/AML designation.
