Overview

In human resources, ongoing professional development is essential to keep up with important changes. New laws and regulations, growth and competitive pressures, all drive organizational changes and place extraordinary demands on HR staff.

FIU’s Human Resource Management (HRM) program meets weekly for twenty weeks to discuss in depth HR fundamentals, critical changes, HR strategy, planning, international human resources topics, training and development, and the latest trends in the dynamic field of human resources. It is taught by a team of HR and organizational development specialists who deliver the practical information and advice you need to guide and protect your organization.

Highlights

The HRM program covers the expanse of topics that HR staff persons and managers need to consider as part of their role maintaining a productive work force and complying with employment regulations.

Besides gaining a solid foundation in the latest HR practices and current and critical legal issues, you will learn more about how to accommodate global HR issues, the latest on information systems and policies and how protect your organization from potentially serious mistakes by sensitizing managers and other employees to the consequences of discriminatory and other inappropriate actions.

We’ll also address staffing needs assessment and solutions including recruiting, training and motivating employees, and how to resolve performance issues. Class lectures, discussion and interaction build your knowledge and enable you to find solutions for actual challenges you face in your workplace.
