Program Overview

The Certified Lean Manager from FIU is a first class professional who can teach and apply Lean concepts, principles, tools and methodologies. A Lean Manager will demonstrate knowledge to drive Lean throughout the organization. Lean Managers have a complete understanding of how to bring efficiency and quality in both the manufacturing and service industries.

The FIU Lean Manager certification will equip you with the knowledge and skills required to plan, implement, and sustain a Lean implementation in both the manufacturing and service industries.  As Certified Lean Managers from FIU, the participants will be able to:

  • Teach Lean concepts and methodologies
  • Know-how to drive waste from your processes
  • Lead cross functional process improvement teams
  • Increase company wide business performance
  • Understand project management techniques, including planning, deploying, monitoring and implementing.
  • Sustain improvements

Unique Features

Our team of instructors incorporates their real-world experiences and makes this dynamic certification interactive and enlightening.  Each instructor is a specialist in a particular topic, providing the class with the practical knowledge needed to implement all the theoretical concepts learned in class. Using presentations, group interactions, videos, and student guides, they will make the connection between theory and practical business reality.

Our professional classroom environment is conducive to adult learning.  As a result of this program, you will gain:

  • A comprehensive curriculum that covers all the necessary topics required to launch your Lean implementation.
  • Over 120 hours of classroom training and mentoring  (Three weeks course distributed over three months)
  • Participants need to complete a project with at least $50,000 in annual savings at their own companies and present the results to the class.
  • Participants must complete class assignments and pass mid term and final test.

Tuition

The program fee is $6,960 and includes tuition and instructional materials. The fee is subject to change and is payable in advance.

Classes are held at the Modesto A. Maidique Campus, located at 11200 S.W. 8th Street, Miami. This location is convenient and easily accessible from the Florida Turnpike and the S.W. 8th Street Exit. Directions

Registration and Withdrawal Policies
Payment Policy: Program fees are due in full upon acceptance into the program
Substitution Policy: Qualified substitutes for participants can be accommodated with advance written notice.

Withdrawal Policy: Due to costs associated with establishing, holding, and replacing participant slots, the following guidelines will be implemented:

  • 1 week prior the program: the participant will be charged 50% of the program fee.
  • 2 - 4 weeks prior the program: the participant will be charged 25% of the program fee.
  • The remainder of the above mentioned will be transferred to another program upon receipt of written notice.
