Mentorship Program
Mentorship Program
FIU’s School of Accounting is proud to announce its new mentorship program. The purpose of the FIU Mentorship Program (the “Program”) is to establish mentoring relationships between FIU alumni, who are experienced professionals, and students in order to coach, advise, guide and inspire your entry into the accounting profession. Our goal is to allow you to receive valuable information from the mentor that would otherwise only be gained through real life work and professional experiences.
One of the most difficult transitions to make is from student to professional and the Program facilitates the transition. The Program will also enable students to interact with alumni that may become long-term mentors, colleagues and business associates. The Program provides a learning and leadership experience for the mentor. The mentor will provide honest and specific feedback to their mentees.
Students who are selected to participate will be assigned a professional that will mentor and guide them throughout their remaining academic experience. These mentors work in Big 4 accounting firms, local and national CPA firms, private industries or are entrepreneurs that have built their own businesses. Their work experience will help guide you in the right direction and provide you real life examples of the accounting profession.
Our Mission...
To coach, advise, guide, and inspire Florida International University (“FIU”) accounting students to reach their academic and professional potential by sharing knowledge and experience through a mutually beneficial mentoring relationship. We aim to develop, encourage and inspire mentoring leadership with the FIU Alumni Community.
